7 States of Consciousness
1. Waking
- When we are awake!
2. Sleeping
- When we are in deep sleep, without dreams.
3. Dreaming
- When we dream!
4. Transcendental
- When we reach another state, often through meditation, and more specifically, Transcendental Meditation. TM allows the practitioner to move beyond the thinking mind into a field of pure awareness or pure consciousness. This is the 4th state of consciousness and is experienced as a deep inner silence or stillness. This is the experience of one’s own true nature, one’s own self. From this place of restful alertness, the meditator experiences a profound refreshment of energy, creativity, and intelligence.
5. Cosmic
- As a person continues to practice TM regularly, they may spontaneously begins to experience deeper levels of awareness or higher states of consciousness throughout day-to-day activity. Through consistent TM practice, baseline happiness can be elevated. Pure bliss already exists inside each one of us, everyday, all the time - TM just helps us find it.
- self-realization
- freedom and liberation
- the experience of “witnessing”
- 24 hour bliss “200% of life”
- life supported by natural law
6. God
- In this state of consciousness, the heart swells in devotion to creation, and one perceives the finest level of creation. One’s perception can see the celestial level of creation, and the heart is filled with love and devotion.
7. Unity
- The complete identification with the unified field of all laws of nature—is the highest state of human development possible. In this state of consciousness, there is no separation between oneself and creation. It is completely unified and experienced as one unbounded self connecting everything. This is the full development of one’s heart and mind.
