Dharma
“Dharma is derived from the [Sanskrit] root dhri, meaning ‘that which upholds.’ Dharma is that which upholds or sustains all that is.” - Maharishi, 1967
One’s individual Dharma is known as “Swādharma.”

“The first duty is to our Self. The first duty is to make use of the possession of this beautiful instrument that we have. Develop it fully. Make use of it fully. This is our first Dharma.” - Maharishi, 1971
There is another term, “ikigai,” that is similar to this diagram above, except it includes one more circle of consideration - what you can be PAID for (lol rip).

Thinking about dharma is like asking the BIG questions. Some of mine are...
- Will I feel like anybody ever really knows me? (life partner, child, etc.)
- Will I get to see/explore everything I hope to?
- Will we ever discover if there’s more? (God, aliens, dimensions, etc.)
- Does everything have a beginning and an end?
