It’s emotion and intellect going together.” - David Lynch Leave me a note back on the homepage solely based on your intuition!!! &nbsp; The experience of having intuition Is a strong “gut feeling” that oftentimes is visceral. It’s that little voice inside of your head that’s pointing you a certain way. I will say, I do believe the experience of not just having, but also following an intuition as a woman specifically, is unique. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a gut feeling about something but pushed it down because I felt insecure about speaking up. Insecurity is definitely a shared experience across all genders, but I do find a particular kind of shared “silence” among women, especially when we are put next to male colleagues or even friends. &nbsp; The role of intuition in my creative process comes up in times I don’t necessarily expect it to. Oftentimes, it’s really just a feeling, or sometimes even a visual entity in my mind. When it comes to writing scripts, there is a strong visual component to each one of my screenplay ideas that are often unable to be read through the pages – it’s more of a stylistic and even tonal “mood” that my script’s world takes place in. This creative aspect of it that can’t be put into words, oftentimes informs many story questions that come up. It acts as a kind of visual intuition that I have surrounding the general vibe of what I am trying to say through my script. In my mentor group, sometimes my mentor will bring up certain script ideas consisting of potential dialogue or scenes that could take place. Although I’m always open to new ideas, I typically have a very immediate intuitive reaction. Sometimes, I’m immediately like “no, this energetically somehow doesn’t fit the “heart” of what I’m trying to get at (either stylistically, emotionally, etc.).” Or, I instantly feel like “YES! This is IT! Someone gets it! They see what I’m trying to do here. :)” I do have to be careful here sometimes that I’m not mixing up my intuition for stubbornness or rigidity. In a consciousness-based education practice, the knower-before presented other external information-becomes the known “subject” of attention.
